The Indian SCENE debuted in 2019, ready and determined to tell the stories of metro-Detroit’s Indian-American community that had for so long gone untold. I’m terribly proud of the work we did in our first year, and of the people who made our success possible — writers, photographers, readers, and members of the community who appreciated our vision and championed our cause.
We’re excited to ring in the New Year with a January issue columns and features on health and mental wellbeing, and we’re excited to begin a second year of publication, which I hope will be as interesting and ambitious as our first. We’re always on the lookout for story ideas and for people in our community doing new, innovative things to feature. If that’s you, or if that’s someone you know, please be in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org. Feel free to take a look at our previous issues, too, for a better idea of what we cover. As we enter an election year and a census year, we’re especially interested in policy issues as they affect immigrants and South Asian Americans; we are a nonpartisan outlet, however, and will not endorse candidates.
With questions or feedback, please be in touch at email@example.com. We’re also always considering ideas and submissions for reported pieces, cultural criticism and well-researched commentary relevant to metro-Detroit’s Indian-American community.
