This month we bid adieu to The Indian SCENE’s long-time editor Maitreyi. I’m immensely grateful and delighted to step into her shoes and shoulder the responsibilities as the publication’s new editor. After looking at her body of work, I can undeniably agree with Lipsa and state that I have some very large shoes to fill in. Her contribution to the publication has truly been an awe-inspiring one, to say the very least. I sure hope to do justice to this new role and successfully share some of the most compelling and intriguing stories of the ever-growing Indian American community in metro-Detroit.
Living in the United States, much like any other Indian American, I’ve always hoped to forge a strong connection with our Indian roots through spirited interactions within the Indian American community. Through The Indian SCENE I’m pleased to have found a genuine thread that binds us all. Enthralled by the reach of the publication I firmly believe there is no stopping this course of interesting anecdotes and accounts which will inspire many readers across the Indian diaspora.
In this month’s issue, we look forward to bringing you some exciting recipes, engaging personal accounts, and much more. With questions or feedback, please feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re also always considering ideas and submissions for reported pieces, cultural criticism and timely, well-researched commentary relevant to our Indian-American community.
