It is hard to believe that my journey to launch The Indian SCENE to connect our vibrant and growing Indian community began a year ago. My vision was clear, yet I was not sure where the path would take me. I hoped to broaden your view and start conversations at home and beyond by sharing the personal and provocative stories of those around us. While I knew this was risky for an otherwise conservative society, it was a risk worth taking; their courage in sharing their most private stories helped to connect us. It would lead us to vulnerable and doubtful places throughout the year, but in the end, these real-life stories proved critical, powerful and worth sharing.

The Indian SCENE and its success would not be possible without our talented team of writers, photographers, the staff of Renaissance Media and our editor. They have worked tirelessly to help make The Indian SCENE a digital publication worth reading. I want to thank our community of supporters and those who have encouraged us to forge ahead. Knowing you are sharing our stories, recipes and community events motivates us to bring interesting, fun and useful content to you.

The people I have met and collaborated with have humbled me and the uncovered vibrancy of our community inspires me — this is just the beginning! Thank you for being part of our SCENE.
